Obama: some predictions for the world of sports during his era as president

There is a new president in the White House, his name is Barack Obama, the first African American president of the US of A. During George W. Bush’s administration, many relevant things happened in sports, such as the Red Sox winning their first World Series since 1918, the Lions going 0-16, a Heisman Trophy going to a sophomore in Tim Tebow for the first time in history and the Celtics winning their first championship since 1986. So, it is time to see what things can happen in the sporting world during Obama’s tenure as president.

  • The Cubs winning the World Series! Yes, I guess it is time for the Cubs to get the MLB trophy after two consecutive years of made in it to the playoffs. I’m sure Obama will be happy even though he’s a fan of the White Sox.
  • A possible update concerning BCS standings due to the discontent from NCAA teams and fans about how the best team in the country is selected.
  • Start to get familiar with the name Seantrel Henderson, as he’s one of the top prospects to make it to the NFL soon, and in stardom condition.
  • Let’s keep up with the NCAA: Michigan and Notre Dame returning to the top teams in college, in a couple of years, both might be pushing for the national title.
  • The Magic winning their first NBA championship! Just with a few more victories, Orlando can end up with the best record in the NBA for the first half of the season. I’m not saying the Magic are going to win the current season, but I am pretty sure that Dwight Howard will lead them to the title within the next four years or so.

So there you go, some interesting possibilities for different teams in the world of sports for the next years, let’s see which predictions come to be true.
